To request use of the Backspace Gallery fill out the below form.

• Available dates can been found on the Calendar Tab 

Exhibitions are requested on a monthly basis and include specific install and deinstall dates. Please be aware of the install and deinstall dates before submitting a request.

Approved requests will receive an email confirmation.

Install:

• Requestor is responsible for:

  • Installing all artwork

  • Installing any special lighting

  • Pedestals

  • Nails and hanging hardware

  • Painting and Patching walls: Paint, Rollers and Brushes

  • Flyers, posters, or other media

  • Providing refreshments for receptions.

• Available for use in the Backspace Gallery tool kit:

  • Basic install tools: Hammer, level, Tape Measure

  • Patching supplies: spackle, scraper, sandpaper

  • Special request items: Ladders, extension chords etc.

Deinstall:

• Requestor is responsible for:

  • Removing work

  • Patching walls (nail holes, dents, etc.)

  • Repainting walls to original colors.

By completing and submitting the attached form, the requestor is taking full responsibility for the set up and take down of their work. They also understand that NIU is not responsible for any damage or theft of their work while on display in the Backspace Gallery.
